We are proud to say that our cutting surfaces are made in England. We never have, and never will go down the route of importing our products. Everything we produce is assembled by our skilled craftsmen from start to finish, meticulously ensuring first class standards. Our butchers blocks are made from only the best quality hardwoods from FSC certified suppliers, usually Canadian rock maple or European Beech. The timber is kiln dried to the appropriate moisture content then put together using high grade food safe adhesives, ensuring a robust end product that will stand the test of time.
Second hand / part exchange.
We are always on the lookout for used butchers blocks in any condition, which we can take in part exchange should the customer require. Please send us a photo and an accurate description of the condition and we will get back to you in due course with an offer. We are particularly interested in old butcher’s blocks with a lot a wear, (preferably still in one piece) with or without the original stand.
Do we use Oak?
We are often asked if we make cutting surfaces from oak and it’s a question that often frustrates us. Whereas oak is hard, it's also fairly porous, therefore we don’t use oak for the cutting surface itself. That said, we make stands from Oak, available in a number of different styles and finishes.
